Blog 3 – “World of Hopes”

For Blog 3 I will be designing a web site called “World of hopes” which will focuses on various treatments, events and training's,  and specialized  courses  for disable children’s which will help of their parents and will be also be helpful for institutions who adopted and looking over this disabled children’s. It will also provide information on symptoms for disability of child after his birth.
Children with disabilities are one of the most marginalize and excluded groups in society. Facing daily discrimination in the form of negative attitudes, lack of adequate policies and legislation, they are effectively barred from realizing their rights to healthcare, education, and even survival.
Estimates suggest that there are at least 93 million children with disabilities in the world, but numbers could be much higher. They are often likely to be among the poorest members of the population. They are less likely to attend school, access medical services, or have their voices heard in society. Their disabilities also place them at a higher risk of physical abuse, and often exclude them from receiving proper nutrition or humanitarian assistance in emergencies.

Target Audience
The target audience of this website is the parents of disabled child’s, Institutions running disabilities children’s and the general public. The website designed will be simple based and images oriented as it will be used by everyone (i.e. users and non computer users) that will help them to understand and get information access easily.

Characteristics of the audience
People using this website will be an
  •  Both genders
  •  Institutions
  • Parents of this child’s and general public
As seen above the majority of content aimed in this website will be for an adult. This website specially focuses on the awareness of treatments for disabled children’s and for their education. The template design and colors scheme will be simple and clean rather than keeping it multipart.

As “World of hopes” is mainly for an adult, it is very important that there is strong consistency and usability throughout the site. There will be a navigation bar present at the top of each page. The navigation bar will consist of four sections, ‘Home’, ‘News and events ’, ‘Program’,  ’Treatments’, specialized clinics  and ‘Contact Us’. The navigation bar will be simple and easy to read, so that each section is clear and easy to find. I have included ‘Home’ in the navigation bar, so that the users will know how to get back to the page they were originally on without getting confused.

Blueprint:

Blueprint Diagram.1

This blueprint diagram demonstrates roughly how many pages will be in the website, and how users would navigate throughout the site. The main point of entry to the site is the main page. Almost every page of the site is accessible from the home page, this is because there will be a site wide navigation bar that provides contextual links to each page. Links such as ‘back’ should not need to be used because of the navigation bar. The structure of the website is hierarchical and the hierarchy is rather shallow for ease of use and navigation. The ‘Treatment’ section has been modularized, so that the blueprints are not too crowded. The separate, modularized Treatements section can be seen in Blueprints Diagram 2.

Wireframe:
To present the idea of how the site would look some simple wireframes were created first, and then a rough preview was drawn up. First I designed a basic wireframe, before adding some content to further present the design of the page.

This is my wireframe for the home page

Following are the wireframe for the various navigation tab options for the website ' World of Hopes'

  1. Whoa, I almost didn't recognize the blog when I clicked your link. This is a great improvement, much easier to read the content and the widgets are more noticeable now.

You have a very good website idea that not many people think about. Your layout is great and I think the image slider is a nice addition.
